My research focuses on cross-border legal and cross-cultural communication issues arising from globalization. Recently, local and international law has been unable to match the accelerated pace of cross-border communications, transactions, and activities of individuals, businesses, and governments. How does regulation in one country impact individuals, businesses, and governments in another country? How do law and culture affect cross-border communications? My research investigates these themes by reporting case studies and analyzing specific instances of the intersection of globalization, law, and communication, e.g., investigations of regulation of sovereign wealth funds’ and state-owned enterprises’ cross-border investments and analyses of cross-cultural and cross-border communications and transactions.
